At our launch event a number of questions were asked about how WRW was thinking across sectors.
For example, is it time to think about water resources availability and demand outside the water companies remit? Is it time to integrate this with water companies’ Water Resources Management Plans? WRW members completely agree with this and we are working to integrate the needs of other abstracting sectors into our regional plan along with the water companies needs into our multi-sector regional plan. This will include consideration of private water supplies, canals, agriculture, energy and industry across the North West, the Midlands and the cross-border catchments with Wales.
Another question was about how cross sector solutions might be funded. There are a number of ways this could be done and we are interested in different views.
