I’m not sure what context regenerative has been used. It is a rather broad term and means different concepts to different people.
In terms of water supply to agriculture, and in our case root crop production, we would like to see a clean , reliable water supply available for irrigating crops when needed. I stress when needed, as some years are wetter than others.
If we have water available then we as UK producers can supply the UK consumer in terms of both quality and quantity. If we do not have produce to sell, it will be imported from the cheapest source, wherever that maybe and regardless of the exporting countries water resilience.
We are not particularly looking to grow exponentially, rather protect our existing crops from the the more extreme weather events.
We would like to see the construction of on farm reservoirs supported to help hold back water(winter rain) when in surplus and utilise through drier periods.
